What is the Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Nutritional Program (WIC)?

The WIC program is for low to medium income families who have:

  • Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or just had a baby
  • Children under 5 years of age
  • Foster children receiving Medi-Cal

The WIC program provides:

  • Checks to buy healthy foods
  • Nutritional counseling, and nutrition education classes
  • Breast feeding support and education
