Where is Placer County located?

Placer County is located in beautiful Northern California, 80 miles northeast of San Francisco and 20 miles west of Reno. Placer County borders Sacramento, Nevada and El Dorado Counties as well as the State of Nevada. If traveling by air, the Sacramento International Airport is a 50 minute drive from Auburn, and Reno-Tahoe International Airport is a short drive from Lake Tahoe. There are smaller airports located in Auburn, Lincoln, Truckee-Tahoe and Blue Canyon. If traveling by car, Interstate 80 runs the length of the county, and is intersected by a network of well-developed rural roads, providing easy access to many areas.
