The second round of Micro Biz grant funding has been approved to move forward starting April 25. Small businesses in Placer County that missed the first round now have until June 10 to submit an application to receive $2,500. The Micro Biz grant is for small business owners whose household income is less than 50,000 a year.

To qualify, businesses must have five or fewer employees and have been operating since the end of 2019.  Please note, that there are additional eligibility requirements. You are urged to review the simple requirements prior to submitting an application.

The program includes a total of $412,500 in funding* from the California Microbusiness COVID-19 Relief Grant Program. The first round awarded $137,500 to 55 recipients. With $275,000 remaining, Placer County has decided to reopen the program to a second round of applications in an effort to distribute as much grant funding as possible to eligible, small businesses.

The Sierra Small Business Development Center, which is administering the program, will facilitate the funding and can help prepare applications, confidentially and at no cost.

The deadline for applications ends at 5 pm on Friday, June 10. If you miss the deadline, we encourage you to check back periodically to determine if there will be a third round of applications accepted.  Thank you for your interest in this program!

*The program is funded in part through a grant from the California Office of the Small Business Advocate.
