FELONY CHARGES FILED AGAINST STUDENT IN ROSEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL ARSON CASE.
Charges have been filed against Roseville High School student, Jordan Loya, 18, in connection with the May 29, 2014, burning of the graduation stage that was assembled on the Roseville High School football field prior to the planned commencement ceremonies. Loya is charged with Conspiracy, Arson and Vandalism, all as felonies. He is further charged with a special allegation alleging that he caused excessive damages in the case.
Loya was arraigned today in Department 13 of the Placer County Superior Court. He has pled not guilty. His next court date is June 19, 2014, again in Department 13. His bail in currently set at $150,000.
The second student arrested is a juvenile. His case will be handled in Juvenile Court. Because of his status as a juvenile, it would be inappropriate to comment further on his case.
