The Gold Rush Museum is still under construction, but is open Fridays through Sundays from 10:30 - 4:00. There are several finished exhibits including our indoor gold panning stream, which is now wheelchair accessible.
The new museum is located at 601 Lincoln Way in the old Auburn Depot Building downtown.
Gold Rush Program
Our fourth grade tour will not be on offer this fall, but is scheduled to return in late spring.
The Gold Rush Program is a two-hour interactive program targeting fourth grade state curriculum standards, concerning the Gold Rush, using museum exhibits and primary resource material from the Placer County Archives.
This tour is available in winter and early spring.

The Gold Rush Museum inside the Gold Country Fairgrounds has closed permanently. The new Museum is under construction in the Historic Auburn Depot at 601 Lincoln Way and the first floor is open Friday through Sunday from 10:30 to 4:00.
