Placer County Health and Human Services
At the Lake, People Come First
Placing people first, we provide a unified system of quality services to safeguard the health and well-being of people in our communities.
Who We Are
In 1995, Placer County's Health, Welfare, and Community Services Departments were merged into one agency, the Department of Health and Human Services. This agency is organized into several inter-related operating systems employing nearly 950 trained professional and technical staff, primarily focused in the health and social services fields. Our services are available throughout the North Lake Tahoe area in the communities of Tahoe City, Tahoe Vista, Carnelian Bay and Kings Beach.
