Biography
Shanti Landon was raised in the Sierra Nevada foothills town of
Jackson, California. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor
in religious studies from California State University, Sacramento. After
working in the executive office of the California Commission on Teacher
Credentialing, Shanti worked as a freelance journalist and contributor to the
Huffington Post. She was also a blogger and public speaker, speaking at
Northern California women’s retreats.
Shanti is now the District Director to Placer County Supervisor
Robert Weygandt, where she focuses on policy analysis and
development, constituent relations, and coordinates with various local
officials and departments on County issues. She’s a Board member at Lighthouse
Counseling & Family Resource Center, a Rotarian, and a member of
Assemblyman Kevin Kiley’s Civic Advisory Committee.
She and her husband, Chris, have been married for 20 years and
have five kids. As an adoptive mom of four children from foster care, Shanti is
passionate about helping meet the needs of kids living in the foster care
system, as well as supporting the families who adopt them. She and her family
have lived in Placer County since 2005 and love to explore the vast wilderness
and enjoy the many activities available to families in the area. Shanti loves
spending time with her family, dog Huck, enjoying good chocolate, and getting
to know the people in her community.
