Board To Hold Special Meeting Thursday On Orchard At Penryn Project

October 09, 2012

The Placer County Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting Thursday, Oct. 11 to consider two appeals that seek to overturn Planning Commission approval of the Orchard at Penryn project.

The meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the County Administrative Center, 175 Fulweiler Ave. in Auburn.

The board will hold a public hearing before deliberating on whether to uphold or overturn Planning Commission approval of the project.

The Orchard at Penryn is a proposed 150-unit multi-family residential project that would be built on 15 acres at the west side of Penryn Road just north of Interstate 80.

The Planning Commission approved the project and certified its final environmental impact report on June 28.

The appeals were filed by the Town of Loomis and an organization known as Stop 150 Apartments Group.

The Board of Supervisors originally planned to hold a public hearing on the appeals Sept. 25, but postponed the hearing at the request of the Stop 150 Apartments Group.
