Placer County Seeking to Fill Seat on Rural Lincoln Advisory Council
January 01, 2016
Placer County is accepting applications from community members interested in filling a vacancy on the Rural Lincoln Municipal Advisory Council. Second District Supervisor Robert M. Weygandt will review the applications and recommend a candidate for approval by the board of supervisors.
Community members are encouraged to apply if they are interested in county government and the future of rural Lincoln. The two-year term is an opportunity to not only offer comments to the board, but also participate in open forums that allow fellow residents to talk about issues that are of importance.
Commonly known as MACs, the county’s 13 municipal advisory councils are charged with gathering public comment on a range of topics in unincorporated areas of the county, including land use, public works, recreation, law enforcement, and public health and safety, and then advising the board of supervisors on these issues.
Members of the Rural Lincoln MAC must reside, own property, or own or manage businesses within the MAC’s boundaries. It generally meets at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month in Lincoln.
More information and a map of the Rural Lincoln MAC’s boundaries are on Supervisor Weygandt’s WEBSITE. For application forms, call the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Office at 530-889-4020 or go to the Clerk's WEBSITE.
Completed applications should be delivered to the Clerk of the Board’s Office in person or by mail. The office and mailing address is 175 Fulweiler Ave., Auburn, CA 95603. Applications may also be scanned and emailed to, email@example.com.
