NOTICE: The Placer County Public Health Division is currently conducting vaccine clinics for people who live OR work in Placer County who are:
• Health care workers in Phase 1A priority groups (Tiers 1-3)
• Aged 50 and older (**now 16+ for appointments at Placer County Public Health clinic)
• Education, childcare, emergency services and food/agriculture workers (sector details; more information)
• Persons 16-64 with certain high-risk medical conditions.

If you do not meet these criteria, please do not attempt to make an appointment. Proof of age is required for age-based groups; proof of eligible sector employment is required for employment-based groups; and proof of living OR working in Placer County is required for all groups. Please also have your appointment date and time on hand when you arrive.
If you show up for an appointment and are not from an eligible group above, you will be denied a vaccine. If you show up without an appointment, you will be denied a vaccine.

Pfizer's vaccine has been authorized for ages 16 and up. Moderna's vaccine is currently authorized for ages 18 and up.

  • Eligible health care personnel in Phase 1A
  • Age 50 and older
  • Education, childcare, emergency services or food/agriculture workers
  • Individuals age 16-64 with severe health conditions and those with a developmental or other high-risk disability.

  • Eligible health care personnel in Phase 1A
  • Age 50 and older
  • Education, childcare, emergency services or food/agriculture workers
  • Those 16 to 64 who are at high risk for severe COVID-19 due to underlying medical conditions

Gate closes at 2:30 p.m. MUST be in line before 2:30 p.m. to receive a vaccine. Please do not arrive excessively early to appointments as this can unnecessarily create lines. Please stay in your car until your appointment time.

Second Dose Appointments

If you received your first dose of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from Placer County prior to March 21, 2021 or your first dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine prior to March 28, 2021, you have been emailed a link to register for your second dose appointment. Check Spam/Junk folders as invitations may be there. Email invitations for those who had their first dose after these dates will be sent second dose registration information at a later date.





Safeway Pharmacy

In-store COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics: 

Placer County Public Health is partnering with eight Safeway pharmacies to administer COVID-19 vaccine to people living or working in Placer who are part of Phase 1A Tier 1, 2, and 3 priority groups as well as those 50 and older, and education, childcare, emergency services and food/agriculture workers in Phase 1B.

  1. Register for an appointment at a Safeway Pharmacy of your choosing by clicking on the corresponding link below. There is a unique link for each store. Click here for instructions on how to make, modify and cancel appointments.
  2. Bring your medical/prescription insurance card to your appointment (Safeway will bill your insurance company a small administration fee).
  3. Click link and fill out the Immunization Consent Form (Spanish) AND the CDC pre-vaccination screening form (Spanish) before the appointment.
  4. Bring your workplace ID or other documentation indicating employment in the above occupations, or documentation of your residency and age if 50 and over and a Placer County resident. Persons who cannot demonstrate employment or age-based criteria will be denied vaccine at this time.

  • Clinic will start on 1/12/21 and continue until further notice
  • Clinics will be open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. (lunch break from 1-2 p.m.)
